Mr. Brown
Picture Book / Clay
During a busy period, I didn't have time to pay attention to my appearance. One day, as I stared at myself in the mirror, I felt a stranger looking back at me. In that moment, I suddenly realized that everyone's face is somewhat similar, covered by a kind of "shell." This inspired me to create a story about people who have lost their "shells."
Clays of Mr. Brown
At the same time, I tried to recreate the characters and scenes from the story using clay. Inspired by mirrors, I added mirror elements to the clay for contrast. Mr. Brown and his surrounding looked colorful, but the mirror illuminated the reality: they were all actually hiding themselves. Beneath the colorful exterior lay the silent pain and distorted postures of people with dull and colorless bodies.
